Our First Bear
« on: November 13, 2007, 08:36:08 AM »
Me and My boys used to hunt Bear all the time and never see them. Well they have grown up and Moved out so it was the wife and I out scouting for late season muzzleloader season and we see this big boy out at about 187 yards and guess what? I did not have my rifle with me, so we watched for about 35 min. and moved out. We went back the next night hoping to get him. We walk down the road and yep we kicked him out of the thicket and I shot him at 145 yards and he died 30 yards 1 shot in the chest. We are making a rug and yes the wife wants it in the living room. That was a great hunt.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Congrats, nice bear, and nice to have an understanding wife.  I'm still battling with my wife on my European Elk mount, she thinks it would look best on the shed...NOT gona happen.

Congrats on a dandy bear, glad to hear your wife appreciates your hunting and the taxidermy.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
