On the Range with the CVA Accura LR-X

We took the CVA Accura LR-X to the range on Friday for some testing. We were very impressed with the results at 100 yards. We did find the 100-grain charge to be slightly more accurate at 100 yards than the 150-grain charge, however, if you plan to shoot further than 100 yards, the additional velocity of the 150-grain charge is crucial!

I'm assuming this was pellets based on the 100 grain vs 150 grain??  What powder did you use?  Was this with open sights or a scope?  209 primer I assume.  Also, what bullet / projectile did you use?  Was this the 50 or 45 cal. muzzy? 

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm looking at picking up a 50 cal lr-x and all the info I can gather would be helpful.  That first group is pretty impressive.

I apologize for not including this info at the top. This was with IMR White Hots Pellets and we were using a scope, however, I have also used the LR-X with the Williams Western Precision Peep Sight Set had excellent results. I was actually able to harvest a whitetail with that set up last year.

We were using Federal 209A Primers which I highly recommend because of their heat. This was the .50 caliber version and we were using the Hornady BoreDriver FTX bullets. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will be happy to help!

What is the actual weight on your LR-X?  I’ve got it in my cart in a .45 cal right now, but was still on the fence with the MR-X too.

I held a friends LR-x in 45 call just last week and it was a super light muzzy.  I was also super impressed with the construction and the fact that it is a take down muzzy that would be very easy to pack and travel with. 

I'm gonna get the 50 cal. sooner than later.

We have the same setup on both the MR-X and the LR-X right now. Our MR-X weighs in at 9.5 lbs and the LR-X weighs in at 9.9 lbs so there is only about a half-pound difference between the two. Keep in mind that this is with a scope so yours would be lighter.
