Mayfield Lake

Anybody ever hit up Mayfield for Tiger Muskies? Or have any close encounters with them fishing for other species? A friend and I want to give it a shot and were thinking to try later this month. We've caught them in Tapps and he's caught a bunch in Merwin but I haven't tried Mayfield. Thanks in advance.

It’s better when it warms up but that shouldn’t stop ya. Spinner baits and bucktails have worked best for us around wood and weeds.

Thanks! I take it I won't be able to see to the bottom like I can at Merwin. Its cool to see 10 foot wide stumps under 20 feet of water.

You can see the Mayfield fish real well. But yes, I believe you really should have better luck in summer.

Thanks guys looks like we may try later this month but then turn it up late May and into the summer.

The only problem with summer time is the recreational boaters you have to deal with.
I rented a boat at the marina last summer and was repeatably buzzed by the boaters that cant resist interfering with your fishing experience.
Its a small body of water.
Common courtesy doesn't seem to exist on the waters anymore.
I am a Yankee and really miss Musky hunting.
