AR15 weight

Hey guys, what is your AR15 weight with scope, rings? Mine is little over 10lbs with scope, rings, suppresor, had to add another rail to raise up scope a little.

Im in at 9lb 6oz, with bipod, scope, no mags.

Mine has the Fab Defense Survival stock so 10 rounder in mag well and another 10 in butt stock well, 14.7 oz total or half that if I dont carry the one in the butt stock.

Bipod is 14oz.

Honestly I never thought to weigh my ARs. Each has a purpose that they were setup for, as long as you hey fulfill that purpose I don’t really care.
If I was humping miles and miles all day, or building a “hunting rifle” then I would be cutting weight.

Now that I think about it, it might be fun to build a functional “skeletonized” AR just for fun. Tons of cool options to work with.
I have a few very nice hunting rifles, it might also be fun to eventually build an AR to replace my hunting rifle. It would take an incredibly built AR both weight wise and caliber to replace my Finlights.

But it would be fun trying.

im asking cause ill be hunting coyotes with it, and like you said miles and miles of walking. I can't really take anything off of it to get the weight off. I guess i have to close my eyes on a weight and start walking when the time will come.

May be more about balance than weight. A suppressor makes most anything feel front heavy and slow to swing. I've actually added weight to the butt of a bolt gun and ended up with a better carrying package.

I have a 308 AR that weighs 5.9lbs with no furniture.  Sig red dot adds very little.  Suppressor is still in the works.

I agree with that.
Less ammo less weight.
I've carried my AR 15 and 10 in 308 .
I guess the weight bothers some more than others.
My 7 mag rifle is like a 10lb rifle.
 
I'm thinking the ar15 is better than the 10 though .

Similar look, but it is adjustable which I really like.  I might have been able to shave an ounce or two with the one you posted - but I do like the adjustable stock so I might have eaten the extra ounce in favor of the function.

As far as comfort, it is just fine.  No complaints at all.  I also could drop 4 oz or so by losing the fore-end grip or replacing it with this:  https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2319453274?pid=917549.  And another ounce by removing the bad lever.

Like with backpacking, I found I was willing to add a few oz's in exchange for comfort/convenience.  Just have to be wary that ounces become pounds.

How are y'all getting these things so light?  My AR pistols, without a can or optic, weigh 6-7+ lbs.  I think my Seekins SP15 is right around 7 lbs with no optic or can on it so it's probably around 9-9+ with optic and a can.  I don't know how you get an AR10 under 6 lbs I know mine is 10+ just for the rifle alone.

What length of barrel is on that? With the suppressor added, cutting back on the barrel length would save quite a bit of weight up front where you notice it the most.

My son bought me this a few months back.  An AR15 chambered in 308 (so not a typical AR10).  Still comes in at 5.9lbs.  Haven't looked at their 223 ARs, but no doubt they are lighter.
