I would like to know how many big of bucks have been taken that aren't legendary?

When I was young I saw pictures of quite a few absolutely huge bucks taken by old timers that never even had them mounted and in some cases didn't even keep the horns. There were many bucks taken in the northeast that were between 30 to 40 inches and there's no public record of them being taken, most people who got these huge bucks have passed on, I have to wonder what bucks were taken that have disappeared and what happened to some of the photos and horns, if they were kept by family members or thrown out?

This ^^^. Heck, even by guys who haven’t passed away. Growing up in NE Washington I saw countless GIANT bucks hanging from the walls of a double wide. Usually the only pictures of the bucks were a Polaroid taken in the parking lot of the tavern where they stopped by to show their buddies on their way home. Most of these guys could care less for getting their bucks into the state books, and they’re the same guys who are still using a flip phone and have no idea this thread exists

Les the Barber recently passed away, way to early, so sad. His Father passed years ago.  In their Barber shop in Moses Lake was a giant buck the Father killed in the old days up in the Omak area. I remember them looking for a cape to shoulder mount the big antlers. Who ever mounted it did an excellent job. They said the taxi had challenges dealing with the forms being to narrow on the head to properly mount the width of the skull holding the antlers. Before the old man passed, they entered it in the sportsmen's show in Spokane, and it won a lot of ribbons. A true WA giant.

Another buck I think of was killed in 1944. I’ve told stories of this fella that were told to me from my dad and grandparents. His name was Gabe and he was good friends with my great grandparents.

We have a few pictures in our albums of Gabe with many big deer but there is one picture of Gabe and a buck he killed, once again 1944 that is amazing, probably would be some kind of record, either weight wise or possibly antler wise.

The picture is of Gabe standing next to a big non typical hanging on the meat pole, head up as always. The size of this deer is unreal, it’s hind feet are just touching the ground, it’s head and antlers closing in on the pole. Gabe was 6.7” tall and weighed over 270 lbs, this buck made Gabe look like a little boy. Some on here have seen that picture, it’s a monsterous deer to say the least.
Gabe later went on to do work for fish and game in Alaska and remained great friends of my family and hunted in the little Bellingham camp until he passed in the 60,s.

Once again, another buck I’ve seen that could of, would of, should of. 👍

Les Schwab in Colville used to be a favorite place to swing by late fall.   There were some serious bucks brought through on and the wall of fame each year.   

I can't think of any Legendary bucks.

Oh c'mon Bone, you need to repost some of the bucks you have photographed over the years. The biggest or most unique weird racks. Some folks like different flavors. Some of those bucks are legendary!

I still dream aboutt a high and tight buck he posted a year or two back, I try to go find it sometimes but my search skills are lacking lol might not be everyone's cup of tea but it got my blood pumping

Saw some pictures of a Mission unit buck that scored well over 200" a while ago... I think there is a picture at Hooked On Toys in Wenatchee of some of that buck's sheds that got put on a shoulder mount. Can't remember the exact story on it, but I'm sure they'll know what you're talking about if you mention it.

Believe that was the Broadview Buck. To my knowledge no one ever killed him.

Been 11 years ago now. He was not harvested to my knowledge. Was a legend. Buddy and I had him on cam a lot. “Hollywood” is one of my favorite bucks I have ever watched.
