I recently purchased a 92 Yamaha jet that I am having a reputeable marine service center put a current model tiller kit on. It was originally a tiller but I wanted the current "long" model with the gear select lever mounted on the throttle handle instead of next to the cowling. It is all together and working however, the current models have a push-to-open carburetor instead of pull-to-open system. Resulting in the throttle working backwards. Here is my dilemma, I have been running tiller boats for twenty years, how critical is this going to be when I am running skinny water and navigating narrow chutes? I am sure I can get used to it but not feeling good about it right now, not to mention the resale value if/when I decide to sell. Any thoughts or opinions?
