Tiger Muskies

I have heard that there are tiger muskies in Patterson lake, planted to help control the perch population.  Is there any truth in this?

 Ask the DFW Regional Biologist for that area, you can find pretty easily on their web site.

lake tapps,mayfield,merwin,newman,silver lake near spokne,evergreen res,quincy,curlew lake these are kept stacked  there are some in others  but could be dead by now

yup, those are the last 7 lakes in WA that are currently stocked.

Are you talking patterson lake by yelm area? If so I fished that quite a bit never seen a tiger in there and never heard of a tiger being in there.

I have heard that the best thing is baby ducks, just stick a medium sized treble hook in it's tail and let it swim around near the weeded areas along the shore !!












No DON'T do that, I was kidding however when I was on a northern Minnesota Boundary waters canoe trip I seen a mother duck and 3 ducklings cruising along the shore and then there was a great splash and commotion and then there were only 2 ducklings with mama !!!

Best thing I have used for muskys is a "Johnson Spoon" with a red pork rind trailer and just case into the shallows and retrive slowly !!

Bowhunter there are many ways to fish them. Large spinners, suicks, rapalas, I can go on and on. What are you wanting to know specific?

I talked to the local fisheries biologist in Curlew and they did a shocking and tagging study this last spring/summer and they shocked and tagged multiple state record fish out of the lake. When I first moved to Curlew you could catch sqaw fish all day long out of the lake and now you don't even see them. I like to use giant bucktail vibraxes in a size 6-8. I have also been out there days when I wish I had a fly rod. They will sit in next to the cat tails and sip damsel flies off the surface for hours and not touch anything you throw at them.

I had a big tiger take a little bass that I was reeling in on Curlew Lake.  Wound up losing him.  We didn't have a net big enough to scoop him up in.

My Uncle had a baby duck lure for Northern pike and Muskie back in Michigan and Wisconsin when I was a single digit midget.
