Launch gate now locked on east end. Lake is about as low as I have ever seen it.

Why the draw down?

They use to do a big draw down in the fall, but is was usually still accessible at Mossy Rock Park

They cant fill the lake to full pool anymore. I think its 30 feet lower than normal to start with so it comes down a lot faster. There hasnt been any rain to speak of for months so that doesnt help. Plus I think they have to keep flows at 3500 minimum now so they cant decrease flows to conserve water. It was quite a bit lower a couple years ago. Will probably continue to drop for the next month or 2 until inflows start filling it up again.

Mossy ramp may close too the way its going.

Have they not fixed the dam yet?
I was under the impression they were supposed to fix it back in 2017

Last I heard They did not plan on spending the money to fix it anytime soon. They lowered it to a level that there was no risk and figured that was a better option than dumping money into it for now. If this is the case hopefully they plan on extending the launches.

That sucks!
And it takes out the east ramp for 1/2 the year

The ramp closed signs were put out this morning. It’s dropping pretty steadily. Fishing has been good though!
