I have a Purple Heart veteran deer tag for Oregon that allows for any buck in any area in the state from 11/25 to 11/30. Anyone offer up any ranch land or ideas where to target a big mule deer

That time of year I would head to the Steens Unit!  Still a few big deer there and that time of year would be an amazing hunt!  Best of luck.

Summer Lake area.....Government Harvey Pass....Bow hunted there and the amount of mulies was astounding...I imagine the rut would be crazy...There is a place at the Summer Lake Hot Springs to stay and hunt out of there..Hart Mountain area too.

Wallowa Lake?

 :dunno:

:chuckle:  I was going to say that we saw an absolute pig his summer in the town of Wallowa but the lake is a bit different. Just go sit in the campground and ring the supper bell

Hart Mountain would probably be worth while. The best advice I could give though is go start looking now in every area possible.  Find a giant and kill him when it opens.

Is it legal to bait with Cheetos... :dunno: :chuckle:

Seriously, best of luck with that tag.  Hope you tag a monster.  Don't forget to come back on and post pictures.

I find that Ritz crackers work very well for bait in the campgrounds as well

I had to remove a bag of Cheetos off Hwy 20 a couple summers ago, the doe eating out of the bag had traffic stopped both ways. She walked off the road when I was walking up to it, I put them way off the road so she could finish her junk food smorgasbord.🤣

Nice buck but there is no chance that buck makes 189” with a missing G3

Ya maybe not. We didn't think so either until we watched the videos and really broke him down. My buddy ended up shooting a 183" and this buck was bigger.  :dunno:
