Not heat alone I should say...takes a significant drop in temp as well as heat to create a scenario whereas plants change color sooner or later...best to trust length of daylight....

you cant eat the horns, but backstraps look like crap on my wall!!!!

Can't see the pic since I am at work, but looking forward to it.  It sound slike a bull I might have seen in the general geographic area.  If it is I'll crap a chicken.

It really looks like a westside bull.  Dark horns, rain, thick cover, rain, oh and rain.  Besides there aren't any good bulls east of North Bend.

the elk in this part of the state get very dark antlers, extremely thick

Looks like a Zarumbo (spelling) bull.  It's a island up in SE that used to produce some really palmated horns.  Couple friends of mine have drawn tags and one has a bull very similar to that one.

well a very good friend saw the pic today, he is devasted, this bull was hitting his wallow last year, saw the bull 2 yrs in a row, a friend of his has sheds of this bull, was keeping it quiet. I know now for sure where this bul was taken  ;) I do not know anymore, I have no idea of score

He won't score very good but he sure is an incredible bull!! Score is just a number. I would take him over a bull that scored a lot more! Talk about character! Thanks for posting Shane!
