Lobster or Prime Rib
«

With all the holiday food talk, I thought this would be fun. Ture Prime rib roast and live Maine lobster are roughly the same cost, so which would you go for? Not for a holiday meal that has tradition, which would you go for based on satisfaction only?

I am making both.
I don't see that option, so I did not vote.

Between the two, I personally would opt for the prime rib. That said, a guy could go with an adequately sized prime rib and steam a few of those smaller lobsters. A very good surf and turf. I’m a huge fan of another side to the rib roast, AK king crabs but that’s not gonna happen with the golden prices on the the AK crab right now :'(

I'll always take the prime rib first. Pretty much all shellfish is a surf & turf or side option to the main protein. Very seldom eat a meal that is shellfish centered.

Prime rib done right is hard to beat but I haven’t had lobster in a couple years… so my vote was easy.

I would make the case that's the even more expensive option
I say prime rib, lobster always seems a little light for a main dish, but I've never turned one down when offered.

Gotta go with prime grade boneless prime rib using the rock salt method with Montreals seasoning.
