Fun day for smallies (big ones) !!! (Pic heavy)
« on: May 25, 2009, 10:24:49 PM »
By far my favorite fish to catch. We had some great weather and had a blast slaying the smallmouth. 3 of us fishing(dad and grandpa) and landed 20-25 real nice smallmouth. Only 1 fish under 14", most were 17-20". 5 were over the 20" mark, which is about 4.5-5 lbs. The first one is a 22"er I let go, we figured about 6.5 lbs (we had 2 that were 20" and skinnier that we weighed at home at 4.5 lbs for comparasin). We dont carry a scale so I will never know but it doesnt ever matter. What a blast!!

It was fine that I went one day but when I ended up fishing two days I was in a little bit of deep water. Good thing they were taping and texturing, not much I could do for once.

Those are good fish. I'm heading out thursday, figuring the Columbia has warmed a little and moved some fish up into the shallows.
