Timber Hunting Coyotes
« on: December 28, 2022, 08:31:50 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has had much success calling in coyotes while in timber? I have had a bunch on trail camera this year and figured it would be worth a try but don’t know where to start. Had success on the east side in open fields but still yet to have any luck on this side of the mountains. Tried looking up other threads and couldn’t find anything.

Thanks for any advice!

Thick timber is tough for coyote. Their nose is just so good.  If you can find a spot to setup where there is something blocking them from getting down wind of you like a lake, River, cliff something like that it really helps.   Shotgun with #4 buck has been my favorite for thick timber

Hunted heavy reprod many times. 20 minutes on stand and move about 200yds. Shotgun stacked with #4 buck or turkey loads.
