I’ve been rejected twice now and have a couple more draws before Washington so maybe the contractors running these draws will feel sorry for me come June and just maybe give me a Washington tag 🤣

I didn't play with Idaho's general draw this year. Shot down for a DAV tag but, not interested in the others. In Oregon, I drew my spring bear tag, will draw my archery buck tag, and hunt archery elk/fall bear. I'll also jump over to WA and hunt late season whitetail, got my tag in the mail last week. Good luck to all you hunters in ID.

Heading for the Selway Zone for elk. Brother and I both got tags. We have deer hunted in that zone for a few years and could have killed bulls on each trip and almost everyday in there but never bought elk tags.
You know this means you’ll see some big bucks and no bulls this time around, right or am I the only one

That's exactly what's going to happen. Never fails!

Idaho commission approved an $18 app fee for the nonresident draw next year because of the high demand turnout this year.  Will be over $1mm in additional department revenue.

I'm glad they are doing it.  Make people get a little skin in the game if you're going to apply.  Hopefully that drops the number of applicants.

a lot of people whined and moaned about how the old system wasn’t fair. Well all I have to say is, now your out a license fee and 18 bucks. And most likely still won’t have a tag. Made lots of since to go to a draw. :bash:

Exactly, an old saying we heard all the time as kids comes to mind anytime we said that’s not fair it was met with the firm response. Well life is not fair. That is definitely something kids and apparently some adults need to hear more often these days. You play the hand you were dealt the best you can. Some will have it better than you and some will have it worse. Doesn’t matter if we are talking about ability to apply in person or any other part of life

I dont think $18 is going to reduce applicants who had to buy a non refundable ~$200 license to apply for 'free'.  :dunno:

Exactly. If this was about skin in the game they’d just do full tag fee up front and no choice whether to buy or not after drawing instead of having 4 separate deer/elk draws plus returns
