Check out Danny Gomez.  I haven't fished with him but have fishy friends that have.  They had a good experience.

PV......went out twice 30 years ago, a panga and then a larger cabin cruiser, pretty much a boat ride. It wasn't a fishing trip.......was just there for a beach vacation with my kids......needed an activity. I doubt that the fishing has improved.

PV has great fishing if you go with the right outfit.  If you just jump on a random boat you'll probably get a random boat ride.

My best experiences(12x) fishing in Mexico were had by waiting at the beach or marina for the “fleet” to come in and talk to customers
Best trip was booked through a waiter at a taco shack, I liked the fish tacos, he hooked me up on his brothers boat for free, he got to keep all the dorato and tuna
Pays to know Spanish also, beyond mas tequila  por favor
One shot. One kill!

His instagram handle is Chawinfishco. Awesome dude who is a 4th generation fisherman out of Sayulita! Great time fishing. We put 24 dorado in the boat in less than an hour and half fishing with me being the only customer on the boat

I have fished in Manzanillo which is just south of where you are looking... awesome place and the fishing was great. Just went on the recommendation of the place we were staying, and the guys were great. It was just the wife, 2 kids and myself on the boat and they charged $250 for the day.  Tons of tuna, a couple dorado and one 8' sailfish. Manzanillo is a less touristy than most of the common places, speaking spanish is helpful, but the boat captain was American.  We have been talking about going back one of these days..

Awesome Durado and great picture. Only downside to Durado pics is you can't get the full scope of their beauty out of the water. Their colors just pop and are so vibrant. I couldn't believe have pretty they are.

AND DELICIOUS. Our Captain years ago took our Durado to the restaurant that just so happened to own the boat and they cooked it 3 different ways for dinner on the house with all the fixings. We sat on the deck overlooking the marina and had a wonderful meal. We love Mexico and will be in Cabo next month.

I don’t do raw fish either until I ate the ceviche the captain made. So freaking delicious! we are definitely enjoying the vaca! I was very on edge about going to a non resort but we’ve done a lot of stuff already that we never would have done if we were in an all inclusive.

I’ve fished a little north of there near La Paz. Stayed at Rancho Leonero and fished out of their pangas. We caught lots of roosters and dorado. I caught the biggest dorado the week I was there. They cooked it for us at the lodge that night. We shared it with everyone. Was fantastic. We didn’t keep any roosters. Also we didn’t catch any of the real big roosters either. Maybe 8-10 pounders.

I guess the time of year we were there was pretty limited on the type of fish in the area.... I would love to fish for roosters!

You guys are talking ceviche....  :brew: hook me up! I love the stuff!

I’ve never eaten so much fish in one sitting!!😍

Nice job! We love to make fresh ceviche when we hook up with some Mexican fish.  To me it's basically cooked because of the citric acid doing its thing.  We went to Sayulita about 5 years ago, no fishing trips for me that time but did a little surfing out in the bay.  They were having some sewer issues I hope they finished up that project.  Heading to the Baja again in June, Todos Santos area for some surfing and fishing.  Last time out we caught Roosters in the Sea of Cortez (spent a couple days in San Jose del Cabo)   My son caught a nice Wahoo on the Pacific side last winter.  Safe to say we love Mexico!  And we do not do the all inclusive resort trips.  Air BNB and just roll with it.  Adventure awaits!  Looks like a wonderful trip!

I’m glad they must have resolved the sewer issue cause we haven’t had or smelled any thing terrible. Our first Air BnB was in the jungle! Pretty awesome.
