My hunting partner and I started hunting elk in 94 I think. Only modern firearm never hunted with a bow for elk. Between us we have killed 12 bulls in Wa. Never tried for cows . Hunted MT a few times over the years and were only skunked because we let small bulls go. Killed 8 in Mt. Had four different times where we did the count down, and dropped two bulls at the same time. We have done ok, but still have not killed a 320+ to stick on the wall. Gotta love Wa spike only and our crazy modern firearm season for elk.

I'v only been hunting elk for about 16 years, so to some of you I am still a youngster. I have only ate one elk tag in that time. I have never killed a monster bull. The guys who consistantly kill 320+ bulls amaze me. Just to shoot elk is just a matter of hard work and effort. I have been married 15 years, sometimes it's questionable if we will make it to the next hunting season
. Give in all year except during elk season, then collect on your time.

I agree 257. I probably could have been slated for an elk killing machine, but then I discovered moose. That knocked me out of the elk hunting for about 5 years. Got back into it last year though. Man that was fun. I Missed it.
