Nutria Rat Hunt Video - SE Louisiana
« on: February 16, 2023, 12:39:59 PM »
In the state of Louisiana Nutria are classified as a nuisance animal and are to be taken by any means all year long without limits as long as you have written permission from the landowner. They can even be taken at night with police notification.

After the duck season closes, we go shoot the nutria up in the same marshes we hunt the ducks in. It’s nice to ride through the marsh taking in the sights while getting some shooting in.

Quite a haul! They are quite the destructive invasive. We have some Nutria, but are having an explosion of invasive Green Crab up here. Hard to stop them once they get started.
Cuterebra are NOT cute!

There will be more than a few down there.  They populate real fast.  Go get em, no mercy on them.

Looks like a fun afternoon! I saw a show with Scott Layseth where they hunted them & then cooked them up. Have you ever tried eating it?
