#Important# Youth Turkey Hunting .

Just wanted to throw this out there.
If you have a youth that's turning 16 this year.
Don't wait to buy there licence and tags.
Buy them before they turn 16.
For youth price,and youth seasons.

Here is also a link to 2023 turkey regulations.

I’m hoping to get my 8 yo out this season for his first big game hunt. He’s been going with me since he was tiny. I think he would really enjoy turkey hunting.

Glad to see WDFW extended the season from one weekend to one week...but why not make it two weekends as kids are in school for most of the newly extended season?

the youth season coincides with their spring break but I 100% agree with you. Most parents still have to work and adding that second weekend would be awesome for dads like me that can't get any weekdays off.

That's cool they extended the youth season but yup that's a bummer it doesn't go for a couple more days into the weekend. Cool for youngsters who live near the turkey grounds though.  Our spring break coincides with the April 15th opener so that's a bonus.

Yeah, it is super nice that it has been extended.....but in typical fashion, I feel WDFW has missed the boat.  Youths don't kill enough turkeys to make two craps difference in the population.  Make the youth season April 1-14 with general opening on the 15th....problem solved.  With all that being said....the general season is plenty long and youth can hunt that as well.  I personally think it is better hunting around the 3-4 week of April.

This is my youngest son's last youth year.  He turns 16 in a few days but I did buy his license, tags and his last youth special permit apps, a month ago.  So he will be out there on the youth opener.
