We did get hooked up with Fred Hutch

He did get on a drug trial  for about a week, got deathly sick.

Could do not the immunotherapy at the time because he was so beat down by the trial drug. Just iv's to rehydrate him.

Eventually did do the first round of immunotherapy.

Got hurting so bad his wife took him in to ST. Pete at 0400, Oxygen level low, wanted to admit him and parked him in a hallway saying it could take up to 24 hours to get a room. Parked him next to some guy that was a raging Ahole with security across from him.

His wife call his care team a Fred Hutch, they said to bring him to UW Med. My daughter and I took him. They checked him out he had pneumonia in left lung, low oxygen level, torn mussel in his lower back from coughing. He was admitted sat to Friday. Now, has an oxygen machine in his house that he uses at night time

I took him up Monday the 8th May for his second round of immunotherapy. The mass in his lung has grown since a PET  scan and the scan they took while he was at UW med. They say they usually do not see any change until after the third round of immunotherapy. Therapy is every three weeks

Life really sucks right now. He had plans to keep working some to manage his time off work. BUT, he has been beat down since the trial drug. He can hardly move without pain, barely eats, seems like it pains him to talk. He is pretty much a wreck, he has gone down hill pretty fast since my 03 march post. I really can find the words to describe the situation, but it is worse. He talked about if life is going to be like this, and things get worse he does not want them doing anything to prolong life. We talked some about DNR, my daughter mentioned some counseling for people who maybe terminal. Yesterday he said they are looking into Social Security Disability, he said Dad, I don't think I am going to be able to go back to work.

Hey folks we don't need any thing but prayers. Waiting for this third round of therapy in two week. Seems like he is giving up. My daughter asked him if he was afraid of dying, she said he said no. I asked him if he believed in GOD he said he does.

My son went to SCCA when he was dealing with cancer several years ago. I know a few others that have been treated there. Nothing but rave reviews from all. Dr. Byrd was my sons Dr. incredible Dr. and person!

Lord, I pray to you to work a miracle for Kenney, I pray that you are able to cure him of this disease that is threatening to take his life. I pray for comfort, healing, and understanding as he goes through this.

I pray for skill and wisdom for his Doctors and medical providers. That they can use their knowledge and resources to battle this cancer and help Kenney beat it.

I pray for Kenneys family and all of those that know him and love him. That they will have peace, comfort, and understanding as they go through this with him. I pray that with their love, support, and prayers that they can help give him the strength and determination to get through this difficult battle.

I pray that Kenney is able to get any assistance he needs and deserves as he goes through this. Whether it be financial, spiritual, emotional or any other assistance. I pray that the doors are open and it is readily available to him.

Lord please bestow all of your mighty blessings on all of these people.

In Jesus name I pray.
Amen!
Amen.

So sorry to hear this latest update. Prayers sent for your son and entire family.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

I could not figure out how to change the title to Update.

I just wanted to let you guys know my son Kenneth did not make it.

What was tried is related in my 12 May update. Things just didn't go his way. Hospice came in tuesday and said he only had days left. He passed away early this morning 2 June 2023.  This is all I can write right now. God Bless

So very sorry to hear this. My mom always said, “this to will pass”, it was her motto through all of her treatments and at the end. I hope that you and your family are surrounded by love and look back at the happy days because those are the ones that shine through when you miss them the most.
