Used bow prices
« on: March 04, 2023, 07:44:54 PM »
Trying to figure out a value on a used bow someone i know has for sale. pse x-force omen pro, spot hogg 7 deadly pin sight, not sure on the rest forgot to ask him and he's has half dozen arrows and broadheads. He wants $700, he only used it one season. Fair deal? He said he bought it new around 2015. Is there any site where I can get a ballpark price?

I have bought several bows on EBay. That might be a good source to see what used bow prices are.

For what it’s worth, when buying used gear I aim to get something for 60-70 cents on the dollar from original MSRP. Factor in saving on sales tax and you are further ahead. Condition of item, manufacturers warranty also factors in. There’s a lot of Facebook groups where you can find comparable items to determine value.

I buy and sell a lot. I figure 50/60 cents on the dollar a touch more if its still a current bow.

Generally, if an item is priced more than 1/2 of a new one, I’m going to buy a new one,

2015 is a fairly old bow.  Keep in mind you might want new strings right away at about $100-150.

I paid $700 for a bare bow, flagship Hoyt at the time that was 3 years old.

Since it's not a bare bow, see if the accessories are what you would want.  Chances are the arrows are the wrong length so I wouldn't consider that any value.
