BowTech 82nd airborne
« on: May 29, 2009, 09:28:58 PM »
i bought an 09 82nd airborne in december. shot it prolly less than 300 times. i picked it up today for the first time since january. first 9 shots were kill zone shots in my 3d deer target. on my 10th shot as i drew to full draw the factory string came apart and broke just above the release loop. top cam is all bent out of whack and i'm not sure yet if the limbs are wasted. i payed alot of money for this bow and there is no way the string should have broke. i have taken good care of this bow keeping the string waxxed, never abusing it and kekeping it in its case when not in use. this totally bums me out. Will BowTech replace my bow or am i out of luck? this really sucks.

That sucks, I was just reading up on bowtechs warranty. As long as the malfunction wasn't your fault I believe your bow should be covered by their warranty.

From Bowtech's Website...

Q: Does my bow have a warranty?

A: All BowTech bows not sold over the internet come with a non-transferable lifetime warranty to the registered original owner. This warranty protects against any failures of the product due to defects in material or workmanship, and does not include any damage due to abuse, misuse or modifications to the bow’s design. The following exclusions apply:

        * Cable slide, cable and strings, hush kit, bearings, paint and/or hydrographic film transferred finishes.
        * Damage caused by abuse, mishandling, dry-firing, alteration or modification to original product.
        * Other excluded damages are those resulting from either loose mod screws or shooting arrows less the five grains per pound of draw weight.

The BowTech Warranty covers product purchased from Authorized BowTech Dealers. BowTech products purchased through the internet are not warrantied.

Take it back to the dealer you bought it from and they should be able to help you deal with bowtech.

It should be covered.  I'm at the Federal Way Wholesale Sports (Sportman's Warehouse).  If it's convenient come on in, and we will get you fixed up.

it will more than likely be covered, Just make sure you take it to a bowtech dealer. If you take it to a non-bowtech dealer and they put it in there press.......warranty is null and void.

Just kidding that truly sucks and must be frustrating as hell.  I'm sure many four letter words were let out.  I hope they send you a new one quick so you can get back out there shooting ASAP.  Let us know how it goes.

True... because he couldn't shoot the hoyt that many times without changing his string and cables,  let alone lift that heavy thing that many times..... Of course Hoyts are good bows.... so don't take it wrong... just hate it when FANBOYS jump out and say things like that when a guy is posting and trying to get help.

That happened to me last summer with my Mathews Dxt , it broke my rest too :bash:.  It left quite the mark on my wrist where the string hit my arm.  I took the bow back where I got it and they replaced it with a new bow and a new rest.
