First fawn.
« on: June 17, 2023, 05:34:03 PM »
Finnaly saw my first fawn of the year today and it looked only a couple days old. It seems like this year they have been dropping late. I've seen 3 elk drop their calfs about 3 weeks ago. What has everyone else been seeing and any thoughts on why it seems late?

Saw my first fawn Tuesday, maybe 10-12” tall, so tiny.

Calves are doing great. Saw my first one on 6/2. Yesterday I saw 43 cows and 24 calves in one group.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

We saw a Blacktail fawn 4 weeks ago and it was a little early. Late fawns mean the does were bred late usually due to low buck numbers.

Just saw a mulie doe with two twins while camping near Winthrop.  They are tiny, but both of them as well as Mom look very healthy.

Saw a doe in my yard yesterday with 2 fawns. (blacktails)They were on the run. I've noticed all the deer I've seen lately are moving quick in areas where they are usually calm and just feeding along. Makes me wonder if a cat has moved into the area.

Saw another muley fawn today. Could barely stand up at times.  Lots of solo does hanging in heavy cover. Pretty sure they will dropping more fawns soon.

Saw a tiny tiny baby muley still a bit wobbly yesterday with mama, hard to believe that might be a bruiser in 5-7 years! If it survives of course.
