I took new my new f150 in for a warranty issue (power steering failure at 10k miles), and the dealership has taken 22 days before they even looked at the issue. After the 22 days  I got a call and they said parts are on order and it will probably take another 6 to 10 days to get the truck up and running. So in the end my local dealership has taken a month for warranty service, which kind of makes my upset. Is this normal? The dealership said this is normal everywhere, but I have never experienced this before. Anyone else have similar experiences?

I haven’t ever had them keep it that long for warranty issues. Are they providing you a rental truck for that entire time at their cost? They sure better be

Uhh. Just making sure I don’t have any F150 power steering issues before I chime in LOL.

WSUcoug shoot me a pm with details.
I’m not going to drag a dealer into the mud here.

It might be normal. I’ve got 20 vehicles sitting here for multiple days trying to get them through the shop. Waaayyyyyy more than I’ve had in a very long time. There are multiple factors contributing if you’re on the eastside.

I called about a touch screen issue complete shutdown (ac and heat are controlled by this) and radio would not shut off even after keys pulled and door opened and closed.. this was a week ago and they said beginning of September! I disconnected the battery and it all reset but it will happen again. 😡

Holy crap that's excessive.
Battery dosconnect will usually cure that.

What dealers should do and what dealer do are two completely different things. I literally get tired of listening to their bs.

They did not give me a rental. Thankfully I had my old chevy half ton to get me around. I would have been in a world of hurt if I didn't have the spare truck.

Had my 21 f150 towed to the dealership because the electric parking brake was stuck on. My truck stayed there for 3 weeks and then they called me and said there was no issue with my truck. I picked my truck up and the next day it did it again. Finally had it fixed by another dealership but somehow that wasn’t covered under my extended warranty.

Is it a Ford extended service plan? I assume they replaced park brake actuators.

Should be. Said it was bumper to bumper extended warranty to 100k miles.  They replaced the rear one because I broke the clip trying to unplug it to release the brake.  I was in the woods elk hunting when it happened. Took the tow truck driver over 5 hours to get me. I’m not exactly sure what they did. I’ve had the screen flash “parking brake fault service now” every once in a while so they didn’t fully fix it. I think a electric parking brake is a horrible idea.

Gotcha. Not really any such thing as bumper to bumper extended warranty. That’s a sales pitch from a greasy finance department person. I could probably explain why it wasn’t covered if you want but I’d need more info. Shoot me a pm with your VIN and odometer if you want.

Ford dealer had my wife's 2017 Escape for three months. It took about a month to get an engine and two months for the dealer to put it in. They claim they only have one tech and one bay for a job like that. We were six vehicles in line. The finance guy told us the bumper to bumper covered everything when we bought the car. maybe it doesn't?

Salesmen are good for that. I deal with warranty companies very regularly. I have never seen one that covers "bumper to bumper". Most of those contracts actually have a whole page dedicated to "what's not covered"

I can't imagine there are any issues for a scheduled oil change. You could pretty much get a high school student to do that in the parking lot without screwing it up.
