I called about a touch screen issue complete shutdown (ac and heat are controlled by this) and radio would not shut off even after keys pulled and door opened and closed.. this was a week ago and they said beginning of September! I disconnected the battery and it all reset but it will happen again. 😡
I haven’t ever had them keep it that long for warranty issues. Are they providing you a rental truck for that entire time at their cost? They sure better be
Had my 21 f150 towed to the dealership because the electric parking brake was stuck on. My truck stayed there for 3 weeks and then they called me and said there was no issue with my truck. I picked my truck up and the next day it did it again. Finally had it fixed by another dealership but somehow that wasn’t covered under my extended warranty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I assume they replaced park brake actuators.

They replaced the rear one because I broke the clip trying to unplug it to release the brake. I was in the woods elk hunting when it happened. Took the tow truck driver over 5 hours to get me. I’m not exactly sure what they did. I’ve had the screen flash “parking brake fault service now” every once in a while so they didn’t fully fix it. I think a electric parking brake is a horrible idea. Ford dealer had my wife's 2017 Escape for three months. It took about a month to get an engine and two months for the dealer to put it in. They claim they only have one tech and one bay for a job like that. We were six vehicles in line. The finance guy told us the bumper to bumper covered everything when we bought the car. maybe it doesn't?
How many of these horror stories were sound Ford in Renton? I'm taking a fleet vehicle there for an oil change tomorrow, pray for me

It’s a pain to get to the battery (2022 transit 250) the cameras go blue when backing up quite often still. Need to get it scheduled in.

You could pretty much get a high school student to do that in the parking lot without screwing it up.

I did a battery disconnect on a PSE van the other day for the same problem. I don’t want to say it’s a permanent fix but I’ve done it a dozen or more times over the years.
Days out of service accumulated during attempts to diagnose or repair due to one or more ‘nonconformities’ or ‘serious safety defects’. The vehicle has been out of service due to diagnosis or repair:a cumulative total of 30 or more cumulative calendar days at least 15 days occurred during the period of the manufacturer’s written warranty and during the “eligibility period” (see What Is The Eligibility Period?)The consumer sent a written request to the manufacturer asking for repurchase or replacement of the vehicle and manufacturer failed to respond or did not reached a resolution with the consumer within 40 days
If it's been in the shop for a certain number of days the lemon law may come into effect.QuoteDays out of service accumulated during attempts to diagnose or repair due to one or more ‘nonconformities’ or ‘serious safety defects’. The consolidation of Ford dealerships has not helped the "At your Service". same problem in Spokane, I finally made a big enough stink after 2 months of no communication for a pan gasket/rear main seal warranty that they had to make some moves. The service advisor that started the process is no longer there, and finally got with a good service advisor, got scheduled service moving forward, got a loaner vehicle and now the communication is declining. I have had the loaner for 2 weeks. This post served as a reminder to reach out again. "message i sent" we leave for vacation, i haven't heard from you, i assume you don't need your loaner back until next Friday?i know every business is short handed, but the lack of communication and the over promise and under deliver is what has me the most frustrated with most all dealerships.. at some point, the advisors need to be honest with their customers. We have put an extra 4-5k miles on the diesel pickup over the last 4 months trying to not take the Explorer to far from town. same again this weekend, because the loaner is too small for the family. All service sucks right now. Best rule of thumb is to not break anything.

Might apply to some. Probably difficult path, but a way to become a squeakier wheel.

The problem is the 11 other trucks in the shop at the same time and the lack of qualified techs to fix them. Anybody can do brakes on a Focus. Not everyone can do an upper oil pan on a 6.7. Really that should say not everyone can do an upper oil pan correctly so it won’t leak again. Any hack can do the job. Doing it correctly is a different story.

Then doesn't the manufacturer work to get a dealer to fix it so they don't have to buy it back?

But they aren't communicating, which tells me they miss-diagnosed it, and it is likely the turbo. The new service advisor says she hasn't seen many pan or rear mains on ecoboost motors, but lots of slow leaks on turbos. ? i don't have a leg to stand on in that conversation. They are also trying to warranty an airbag defect/light, which is out of warranty, because i couldn't get them to diagnose and document in the 12 months it has taken them to get a look at that subject matter.
