Think I saw a bobcat
« on: August 02, 2023, 08:18:23 PM »
Pretty sure I saw a bobcat in E-WA over the weekend but it might be a domesticated bengal cat on the loose or possibly a SE WA jaguar.  Wondering what y’all think.

Thanks for the input.

That is definitely a bobcat.

So you’re saying it’s not a jaguar.

It might identify as one? You might want to ask it..

First two, Cheetah with a bobbed tail.

Third one is clearly a bobcat.

I tried to grab it by the tail to slow it down so we could talk, but it had the upper hand with the short tail and all.

Lady down the street from us has a domestic cat that looks exactly like that. She walks it every evening on a long lease and says it's some special breed I can't remember the name of.

Definitely doesn't look like any bobcat I've ever caught. I have seen pictures of bobcats with that kind color pattern though from SE Texas. I suppose it is possible for one like to be in WA. For sure a rare color and it would go straight to the tannery and be on my wall if I was lucky enough to get it.

Not a cougar
Not a puma
Maybe one of those young 21 year old bartenders that only likes guys over 35 and brings you home to meet her girlfriend.
Maybe that's what a bobcat is.
Or I'm dreaming again, who knows. :chuckle:

Wasn’t sure about the high rufus, whether that was a thing or not with bobcats.

Bengal?
This is seriously along the lines of what I was thinking, but it’s got the Bob tail so it was messing with me.

Whatever it is the the colors just seem way more defined than your typical bobcat.

haven't actually seen her in a couple weeks (been mostly on the eastside) but will ask her when I see her again. I know she keeps in on a leash because she says it takes off and disappears for a week or so when it can.  It does have a long tail however.
