PS: That makes two black bears and a bison in just under three months after not hunting at all for over 46 years  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
I think I might be done for this year

Congrats on some very healthy table fare.

I would love to do that for the meat and a cool euro mount.

Do they cut and wrap it that day and send it home with you?

How much meat do you get?
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

How were prices?

The meat processor will hang it until Wednesday, then cut it and freeze it and I’ll take it home on Friday (it’s nice being retired and in no hurry)
“How much meat do you get?”
Well right now my car has a 150-quart cooler in the back seat, a 60-quart cooler in the trunk, another 60 quarts on the passenger seat (front) and a 40-quart soft sided on the floor. This is a small bison, only a yearling  :yike: :chuckle:

I went through bearpaws out of Montana
Price wise if I were to buy the same amount from say Stewards meats in Yelm I would have paid double, Dale and bearpaws all the way

That’ll be tasty.

Nice hat - go Cougs!
2003 Rose Bowl game hat, bought at the game.
I also have a hat and coat from the 1998 Rose bowl game that I bought while being there.
To bad they lost both games

I did a similar “hunt” several years back. Wound up with a beauty…cut and wrapped over 400lbs. Shoulder mount, cleaned skull and a full tanned hide.  My son got a similar animal and my good buddy did the same.  We all filled our freezer with the best meat around.  An iconic animal all the way through. Well worth the trip…a lifetime experience that keeps bringing back memories.
"How, given the canine teeth and close-set eyes that declare the human animal to be a predator, had we come up with the notion that oat bran is more natural to eat than chicken?"
