« on: August 22, 2023, 09:08:53 PM »
Cooked a flat this weekend. First time on the Traeger. Turned out great but wouldn’t use the same rub again. That being said I have a chunk left over and what to do ? Open to ideas for dinner tomorrow

I chop up left over and cast iron it with homemade taco seasoning. chopped red peppers and onions and make nachos. Or Ill slice it and vacuum pack it and save it for a hunting trip and lay it on a grill and make brisket sandwhich for dinner

What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

1. Heat it up and then put on good bakery sliced rye with a topping of homemade cole slaw (slice green cabbage and a carrot with a cheese grater and then mix with lots of Best Foods mayo and a bunch of scallions).

2. Heat it up and then mix it in with pasta.

1.  Brisket nachos is one of my family favorites.
2.  Cube it and burn it in a cast iron pan with butter and add bbq sauce at the end.  Make pulled brisket sandwiches.  The meat will start to fall apart in the cast iron which is what I like it to do.
3.  Brisket and eggs is also delicious.
4.  Vacuum seal and put in the freezer.  Take it out in a month or two and the smoke flavor will be more refined.  When I cook 1 brisket....I cook 2-4 so I can freeze a ton of it.  I like it better after its been frozen.
5.  Baked potato with with brisket, chives, cheese, sour cream, etc. etc. etc.......on huge overstuffed baked potato.  We love doing this with sweet potatoes and it is awesome.

Now I know why I'm fat...... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Gourmet Grilled Cheese. Sourdough, cheddar, mozzarella and pepper jack, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, Pepperchini and onions with brisket. Add some type of spicy bbq sauce. I like Harrods.

Leftover brisket is like leftover heroin - it don't exist  :chuckle:

A fun one I've had out in N Carolina was BBQ parfait cups. Mashed potatoes, meat, coleslaw, etc, layered in a glass/jar.

Make brisket hash and save in portions.
