A little moose help
« on: December 09, 2023, 05:09:10 PM »
Alright y’all, this is my year for my shed antler super slam. Dumb question, but can ya tell me when our WA moose usually shed their antlers? I’ve never looked for or even really thought about looking for moose sheds (so far from my house) but this year I’d like to spend a few weekends looking for a WA moose paddle. Any other tips/advice and areas to search are always welcome too!! Lol. Thanks everyone. Good luck out there this year and be safe. I didn’t do much shed hunting last year, but I’m gonna be hitting it hard this coming year.. cheers y’all!

There’s a lot of moose experts on here not including me but from what I understand moose start shedding in Mid to late November. Apparently the first of the ungulates to rid of their head gear.
$5 is a lot of money if you ain't got it

i actually used to find them on roads a lot when I was lion hunting this month December. When the snow hits they seem to hit the roads a lot. I still find them just not as consistent. Im either snowmobile or utv with tracks looking for cat tracks. I dont typically go looking for them so not an expert there but have noticed sheds in same area from year to year

Now.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
