Todays Fire

Just happened to have my camera in the engine when we were dispatched to a commercial fire in Kalama today. After everything calmed down a little I pulled the camera out and took some pics. It was an antique store and spa. We responded there from longview so it was pretty involved by the time we got there but took about 3 hours to fully put out. No one was hurt so all in all it was a good day. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks for the cool pictures skinner. I didn't know it was going on and my son came home and said " didn't you wonder why it was so smokey outside!"
I'm surprised the whole town didn't go up the buildings are so old they smell moldy when you go in. . Annie

I was there, well, drove right by it on my way to the Chevron gas station, around 4:00. Thanks for the pictures. That's more fire than what I could see. I guess by the time I saw it there was nothing but smoke.

Ya c-money the roof was down w/in 5 min of us arriving on scene. I guess it was built in 1896 or so so it was pretty much defensive after that point.

If the roof is gone, those brick walls don't have much holding them. Makes me wonder why they laddered the wall.(in the first pic)

I keep a disposable in my bunkers just for that reason....you get in the bucket skinner? Here is a little fun from a few years ago, about 4 blocks from the station.

No norse i just got signed off to drive this spring (have to be here at least 5 yrs) so I was driving that day. I drove an engine and pumped 4 handlines and deck gun. I just happened to have my good camera with two lenses in the engine.

Skinner, here are a couple from a huge fire we had a couple of years ago, I was driving a pumper on this one. It was an unfinished 200 unit apartment building at 5 in the morning. It was a fun fire.
