Another good reason to split the state. Same with Oregon.
The inmates are running the institution!
Cuterebra are NOT cute!

How did we not know about this earlier ?
It didn't get introduced until the 22nd.
so 3 days notice is all given ? Seems like they’re trying to scoot this under the door

You Conservative folks better head East. There's only 13 routes with bridges to cut off to stop everyone from the Westside from coming East when the SHF! Seriously... it would be easy to isolate that area.

Easy link to engage on this bill. I recommend following the link and registering a "con" position on the legislative record as mentioned in the last paragraph. Short session means they might just run the numbers and not read all written testimony

I gave testimony on the bill today and I don't think I did very good. I had a nice little 3-minute address all practiced up and at the last minute they cut us to 60 seconds. I tried to pick out key sentences to get my points across, but it ruined my delivery. Thankfully Mark was there along with some others that did a much better job. Fur Commission USA, Inland NW Wildlife Council, Hunters Heritage, a couple furriers and some others that escape me right now. I talked to some, and they thought it went well. Cautiously optimistic the bill will not get through the Legislature in time.
Of course, the animal rights people were there, and they're probably optimistic too so no time to let up.
With that being said you can still submit written testimony to the Committee or just register a con.

How does this affect the tribes?  I haven't found anything about it in links.  Would they be able to be the fur brokers and farmers?  Or is Seattle trying to tell them what they can/can't do?

1st, The hearing today was on a substitute bill. Senator Stanford (Sponsor of the bill) announced that at the hearing but the substitute bill is still not published on their website so I don't know for sure what has changed. They did talk about an exemption for fly tying.
To your question there is no mention of an exemption for Native Americans in the original Bill and I think if that had changed in the substitute Bill he would have mentioned it today.

I think so. It needed a second reading today by the Rules Committee to stay alive and it doesn't show that it happened.
The beaver bill has a few more days as it is considered budgetary. It has until the 5th to get a second reading.
