I tell you what shane even though there was three of us it was a ton of work cutting that beast up.

quarters were quite heavy! I have been slowly chopping on him for 2 days!

Well here is the story. First morning we started a little late got to our first hunting area about 8 am. We got out of the truck and walked a trail that enden up overlooking a big overgrown clearcut. We immediately noticed fresh tracks on the trail in front of us and followed them until they went into the brush. About 5 minutes later we heard a bull grunt down the hill in the clearcut, so we went back to where we had parked and noticed a old gated road that looked like it went out into the clearcut we heard the grunting in. We ended up walking out the road and got about 500 yards in on it and a little bull went running down the road in front of us. We watched him bed down in the clearcut and continued to the end of the road. When we came back by the clearcut 30 minutes later we spotted another bull coming up from the bottom of the clearcut, he was quite a bit bigger than the first bull we saw and he walked right below us on a old drag road and straight toward where we heard the first bull that morning. He hadnt been out of our sight for more than 20 minutes when we heard a cow start moaning and that was followed by the craziest sound I had ever heard hunting, it sounded like there was a 3000 pound pissed off pnr bull on steroids screaming just in the woods. We went down towards the moose but we could not find them, found a chewed up bull pit and lots of rubs all over though. Later that day we seen acow and another small bull but nothing that said shooter. Day 2 we were driving up flowery trail road in the morning and my dad spotted a young really wide bull in one of the swamps off the road, we watched him for a few minutes and decided he was to small. We hit our road and didnt go a mile and seen a big cow out in a clearcut. After watching her for awhile we drove on to check out a lake we had seen fresh tracks at the day before and we got the same result fresh tracks and no moose. We started up the hill to where the road ys and my brother in law spotted my moose standing in a opening about 80 yards off the road when I saw him I new he wasnt wide but something said shooter in my head so when he trotted off I ran after him and took a fifty yard shot hitting him right behind the shoulder. I knew it was a good shot because right when the bullet hit him a huge cloud of steam blew out he opened his mouth and nosedived into the groud. He rolled over a couple times but by the time I got up to him he was done and had only went 15 yards from where I had eventually shot him. This was a awsome hunt some of the coolest stuff happened that I will never forget, even though my moose wasnt the biggest in the state it is a trophy in my book and there are no regrets.

Yep I know, yours looked a little heavier than mine but I got 537lbs of meat out of the deal.

There are alot of moose these days.  I used to hunt flowery trail road 10 years ago and didn't see any moose.  Last year I saw 8 moose around Pend Oreille county.
