Selkirk Bull Moose Hunt

Hello,

I spent about 9 days hunting moose during the rut to no avail.  We saw some moose that were on the smaller size. We called one in that we didn't get a good look at and others were tending cows and wouldn't come in.  I plan on heading back this month and spend some more time looking for a decent mature moose.  I am hoping for a little snow and loss of leaves to help with the glassing.  If anyone has suggstions, tips or weather reports, I would be much appreciated.

In the last week in Idaho I’ve went from seeing maybe one a day to over 20. Leaves fall and they show up!
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Post rut for the next week ( wondering ) then they will find there wintering area and you should be solid. We are planning the last three weeks of the season.

This is kind of early, but I know of a young bull moose spotted yesterday with one horn missing, maybe he broke it?

Pretty slow a little west of you this last week.
Very very very few daylight sightings. One to be exact  :chuckle:

Hopefully they become less spastic in the next week. Followed a bull and cow in the snow for 5 miles and they did everything they could to avoid roads. Several 180s.

Ouch, that isn't what I want to hear.  Have most the decidious trees lost their leaves?
