Hello!

I just picked up a new .300 Win Mag bear gun and was curious what type of rounds y'all are using or recommend?

What model rifle is it? My Winchester Model 70 shoots 180 grain Nosler Partitions well. As mentioned buy a couple different brands and see which holds the best group, even the "cheaper" brands will shoot and kill a Bear.  Best of luck going after Bear this year

181 hammer hunters at 3100 is what mine really likes, deer, bear and moose do not.

It's a 24" Mossberg Patriot. Cheaper gun, but supposed to be pretty decent.

How's the Mossberg Patriot working out at the range?  I don't think he's the best resource on the interwebs, but the Backfire guy on the YouTube had a horrendous experience with that model, including get a new one that also shot terribly.  Not sure which caliber.  I have it in 300 win mag also, and it was terrible (I mean really bad) with about 6 types of factory loads and then ok (about 1 - 1.5MOA) with the Barnes LR load.  I ultimately lost confidence in it and stick with my old 7MMRM.  Last thing I wanted to do was take it on a hunt and get a flyer.  But other folks on the youtube have had good results with it.  I guess the point is that maybe more so with that rifle, the occasional bad one might be more common and really bad...  Hope you got a good one.

I have a couple partial boxes laying around I would let go for a very fair price.  I handload everything now days and they are just taking up room on the shelf.

19 winchester Super X power point 180 grain
17 Hornady Superformance 180 grain SST
10 Nosler Accubond 180 gain
8 Remington core lokt 150 grain

Total 54 rounds......Say $50 bucks is pretty fair these day.

@Decker that would be a great deal to test a few rounds. I tried Hornady Superformance in my 7MM Mauser and they were too hot and shot horrible, but Federal shot amazing, maybe give Jrebel a shout and try some for cheap!
