It absolutely amazed me how anything can live in that area with all the wolves around there. When I had the permit a few years back it seemed that every moose track we saw had wolf tracks in or around them.

Nice bull and thank goodness for the old guy brigade!

I think he will, was pretty darn fast in all honesty but I think he’s probably waiting on turner89 to finish story which I think is the right thing to do.

Kept my friends busy that year, wished they hadn't been put up.  But we needed the work!

Tons of gates in that area! They were just installing that gate by Pettit lake when I had my moose tag in 2019, luckily they didn’t have it locked yet when I was hunting.

I hope so many folks that apply read this story and realize than an OIL tag isnt a given, work a dedication is required to fill it, especially with a quality animal like you found. I appreciate the hardships, the time, the resources, and the dedication you put in. This is the culmination of all of it coming together at the right time, and you painted it all beautifully.

Very cool! I used to hunt unit 1 when it was good deer hunting, some of the landmarks you mentioned brought back memories, including the bars lol. That country has no shortage of predators, glad you didn't get messed with! My brother in law has a story of being roared at by a grizzly in the brush as well, i always figured he was full of crap, maybe not....
