I've had great luck hunting both. Probably had more consistent success in the evening. That could be because I hunt more in the evening...Rarely hunting morning past opening day.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Might have to give it a shot in 2026.

I have most success in the evening but I tend to hunt evenings more. It is a great low intensity bonding type hunt, also great for getting kids interested in hunting. Good weather and some trigger time, not much not to like!

How did the opener go? Anyone melting barrels? I might hunt Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, just curious if it's worth it to endure the burning sun!

Opening morning was a bust for my son. He said the spot he scouted was over ran by mosquitos. He got 3 in the afternoon before football practice. He didn't get hunt the prime flight time. Cleaned his birds and was on time for practice.

Opening morning the 3 of us almost limited, a few euros mixed in. Enough shooting to have a good time and not to hot and heavy to make it go too quick. Watched from the porch this morning and wasn’t nearly as much going on

I shot a limit of doves this morning. Slow steady action, not very fast paced.
