Hawke creek in November?
« on: August 31, 2025, 12:11:21 PM »
Hi all,
Sitting here after a back surgery a few days ago, going stir crazy and trying to plan something to do when im back on my feet.
I just bought a new camper a couple weeks ago, and want to get it out!

Looks like the campground at Hawke creek has pretty accessible water access right from the camp sites. Thinking of taking a couple buddies and their kids for some mid November camping and fishing. Any luck that time of year with trout or burbot? Is the water pretty easy to access? I should be fine with some minor hiking, but probably wont want to push it super hard.

Anywhere else within a few hours of the tri cities besides the tucannon? I've never fished the tucannon that late, but maybe thats just as good of a idea. Trophy fish dont matter to us, just trying to keep the kids busy with some decent action.

Thanks!

You can't launch a boat, the water level is about 10' below full pool but if you don't need to launch a boat that campground is not going to be busy. I have fished below the waterfalls many years ago but at the low water I don't know if shore fishing is good there

Don't know about this year, but last year in November the fishing was red hot. Lake is too low to launch at Hawke creek and will probably still be. I'd be tempted to move on up to the Hunters campground.  Nicer campground and several fairly accessible bank fishing spots

Agree with this, the hunters campground is way nicer and cooler! Hunters will be a bit further driven from TC, but not too much.

Hunters looks like it may be the spot. No boat for us, and leaving the kayaks for this trip. Thanks for the advice!
