Its two trout, just a word to the wise there are several undercover game wardens out there that are just hanging out fishing and watching other guys in boats and on the shore. They have been busting people big time.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

TeacherMan is correct (See below)

Fishing Regs for Rufus Woods
• License Requirement - In waters of Rufus Woods Lake or within the Colville Tribal Designated Fishing Areas, either a tribal permit or state license shall be acceptable. A state license is still required when fishing from the Douglas County shoreline.
• Kokanee - are now included as part of Daily (2) TROUT limit.• All Species - Chumming is not permitted
Effective Date: May 1, 2009 until further notice.
Species affected: All species.
Location: Rufus Woods Lake (Douglas/Okanogan County)
Reason for action: Standardize regulations on boundary waters (Lake Rufus Woods) for cooperative enforcement per agreement with the Colville Tribe.
IMPORTANT ANGLER NOTES: When fishing with bait or scent, all TROUT are counted as part of the daily limit, whether kept or released. (See statewide rules for TROUT, Page 31 of pamphlet). Anglers are encouraged to use artificial lures or flies with single barbless hooks if intending to release fish and to release uninjured fish only. Fish hooked in the gills or tongue will generally die after release.
The aforementioned “Colville Tribal Designated Colville Areas" will be determined in the near future. Please call the WDFW Region 2 office for updates, (509) 754-4624.
Information contacts: Bob Jateff, District 6 Fish Biologist, (509) 997-0316, Jeff Korth, Region 2 Fish Program Manager, (509) 754-4624.

WEll just for my records there were 7 people on THAT Boat in the picture?

Looks to me like there were two boats. Why does everyone have to play detective one here. It pisses me off. Ever though that there might have been 4 in on eboat and 3 in the other. Look at the pictures. One picture taking boats out of the water. How about the picture from one boat to the other.

You guys need to be better detectives if your going to play internet police. Seriously.

ya all notice the things in the background...net pens....raising non-native species of fish in a river system with a highly sensitive native steelhead population? kill em all! gripem and ripem slayem and fillet em. good eats! Shouldn't be a limit on a fish who escaped from a net pen anyways...look at it the same as an escaped Atlantic Salmon. slay em' n Fillet em'

It is a 2 fish limit.

WHat's up with bushwhacker anyway? i just asked a simple question to try to find out what the real limit beucase i honestly thought it used to be 5 up there. i havent been up there and fished for about 3 or 4 years so i thought i'd asked since i am heading up htere. i even talked to duckfvr and told him nice fish. Then the pot got stirred. didnt know how many people they actually had since i was not there.

We were next to the pens. Use a small sinker so your fly will drift natural with the current.

What is a pellet fly????? -Alanger

Funny you should ask. I've been tying and selling Trout Pellet flies for use at Rufus Woods for a few months now.
Below is a photo of a Trout Pellet Fly pictured with and actual Trout food pellet.

On June 19th a friend of mine used this fly in the area of the upper pens to catch & release over 400 Triploids.

Ya'all ever wonder why one year a corky color works better than the next? I know some guys who work fish feeders on particular holding pond for salmon. They attach a different colored corky each year and keep track of when the fish should be back. Then, they only fish that color corky in the river where they raised the salmon......

this is highly guarded information if you can get it....

Not saying it is everything. The auto-feeders are engaged when a fish noses a metal rod in the water. Fish hatchery guys attach different colored corkies to the feeder rods and document(for themselves not officially) the color of corky with each corresponding batch of salmon fry.
