Florida Bear Hunt
« on: September 23, 2025, 08:58:20 PM »
Found this on Facebook tonight  :)

An anti-hunting group says it put $185,000 into purchasing Florida Bear Hunting applications and tags to prevent hunters from being picked. 🐻
Florida approved to reinstate black bear hunting back in May. It’s the first time black bear hunting has been legal in a decade, first reported by Outdoor Life. 🐻
There are only 172 tags available for the bear season. There were 163,459 applications, according to Outdoor Life report. The anti-hunting group spent enough money to purchase 37,000 applications in an attempt to prevent sportsman from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the outdoors. 🐻
The anti group may have won a small battle in keeping hunters from being picked, but they donated a lot of money to ensure we have a future in Florida bear hunting. Resources will be put into bears, bears will flourish and more tags will be given out. Funding the future of hunting and the outdoors! That’s their logic? 😂
On behalf of all sportsmen and women, thank you for your donation! 😂

If anti hunters want to do the same buying tags in WA we might get back spring bear.  :chuckle:

Thats a nice donation to Florida Fish and Game.

On principal alone, I wouldn't.
