Anyone make it out of ilwaco or westport for opening day? hope lots of success for everyone.

We were going to head out of Ilwaco opening day.  The bad weather forecast kept us fishing for sturgeon.  Good thing too it was windy all day.  I think the bar report was calling the 8' or 9' swell with 3' wind chop.

yeah the wind on the columbia can be nasty out there. we usually fish most of july and all august out of ilwaco. we are suppossed to go this weekend hopefully everything works out. we fished mid july last year and had good success hopefully this early fishing is still good.
