Mcnary snow
« on: November 26, 2025, 08:21:25 AM »
Passing through and took a quick scout side trip and wow this pic almost looks AI.  I remember when mallards looked like this and the void they left behind is now filled with snow geese and crowding out the few ducks which might not be a bad thing keeping them exploring to the hunt side but preferred the good days mallards crowding out mallards to the hunt side.  Unfortunately all good things have to come to an end, just hoping for temporary.

I got to go, I don’t know why pick upside down but I just flipped my phone upside down 🙃.

Its amazing the explosion in the population of snow geese. Somebody last year said it was because their nesting areas up north are now warmer?

Idk might be opening up more nesting habitat for them.  But all I know the biologists are saying droughts up in Canada are causing the reduction in duck numbers for which feels like forever now.  Many others in the state opened suggestion box about 3 pintails got a little off course wanting later openings with later closures for future waterfowl seasons.
