CWD in ferry county
« on: January 08, 2026, 05:16:34 AM »
They have been playing this on local new on dry side.
Saying mule deer in ferry county have CWD.
This is definitely gotta be taken with a grain of salt.

Seems a proper sample wasn't provided, some kind of third  party testing took place.
It all seems a little suspect.
They also make the claim ,First mule deer to test positive in Washington.

I'll post a link to WDFW web page ,read the report.
Make your own conclusions.

Read that, had the same thoughts.

I thought testing muscle wasn’t very reliable. Testing part of the brain even though it doesn’t have part of the brainstem would be more reliable I would think. False positive.

Not sure how I feel about this hunter, you transported out of the boundary and then decided to get it tested after the fact on good faith? The way I see it, this was not an approved test and results mean nothing. The WDFW shared this to highlight this hunters mistakes and educate us on following the guidelines.

Seems like a big nothing burger shared by WDFW for alternative purposes.

So playing the devil’s advocate, what’s to stop an anti hunting group from doing that to advance CWD worries and restrict hunting?

I am glad WDFW dose t take random tests as gospel.

Yet they had no problem emailing a press release to everyone in their system.

WEIRD. Had I traveled outside the check-in area I'd never have had a sample taken lol.
