Hoof rot
« on: Yesterday at 07:53:44 AM »
Im wondering if anybody has dealt with the wildlife program and trying to get ahold of them I called a month ago left a message and a number of times after with no answer. Trying to get my results on hoof rot. A month+ to wait for a call back is a little crazy to me if I'm going out of my way to turn my hooves time/gas to go to drop off site, don't you think I should at least get my results?

Same situation for my son in law and myself, zero response to either of us.  It’s like they are ending the program and don’t want to tell us.   Reminds me of the white river passes for the muck land, just ignore them and the people will go away.

Any past hoof rot peeps have any info?  Did they call you only if you drew a tag or did they ever let you know they received hooves?  When I dropped mine off, I thought, anyone could reach in and take mine out.

Our group has turned in several sets over the years. Never heard a thing back and never saw anything that said we should expect to before turning them in.

I must be special  :chuckle:
Between me and some hunting partners we have turned in several over the years since they started it.
I got really good responses the first year.
Last year I got a response saying mine did not appear affected and did not qualify so did one other guy I know.
His dad got a response after the drawing was completed, saying he did not draw.
Most responses I remember receiving were in the March/April timeframe

I submitted hooves last year but was not selected, I received this email from WDFW on February 25th, there are some late elk hunts that just finished up on the west side so once those are all wrapped up I’m sure you’ll receive something. I was like you though, never really knew if my hooves made it in or not, I ended up
Calling to see if they had received my submission and he informed me that the did but at that time they had not done the drawing yet. I know several people who have been drawn for the tags, not so lucky for me.
Old hunters never die, they just stay loaded.

There was a pic posted on FB a while back of  probably 50 or so hoof rotted lower legs in a pile just off a main road in the Margaret unit. Supposedly were dumped by a Washington State game Department truck. Who else would have that many and why would they dump them instead of burning them ?

I don't know who dumped them... But the pic was very real... Still is if you're a member of the Vail FB group... That's where I saw the pic... I wasn't aware it was the Margaret, I thought it was the Skookum... In Vail...
I love you... I really do...
