Game bags
A couple sharp knives
Empty pack with game bags back at the truck
Parachute cord, especially if you are alone
I like to have several pairs of nitrile gloves

foldable glassing pad. nice to lay back on to take a little nap during the day or give you a little more cushion when sitting or kneeling.

Yep, always have a sit pad, foot square closed cell ensolite.  Fire starter is pretty critical.

I second the wind checker as very important. A cow call to locate well and stop the elk for a shot.

Too add
Gallon of drinking water in truck....jet boil/washing blood off hands.
Game cart in truck/put quarters on if road or trail is there.

Great thread.
As mentioned by others. My number one item is my wind checker. Nothing happens moving fwd without wind knowledge. Then it’s game on.
For me as I age it’s not so much about what to put in my pack as it about what to omit from my pack now days. I find myself packing stuff I’ve rarely or ever used.
That might be a thread of its own. “What to omit from your gear/pack”
