so i finally broke down and went on a guided hunt......it was awesome.  :IBCOOL: I had been researching it for  about a month and when i finally got my seaduck card in the mail i decided to go for it.  This was all sparked by seeing an add on craigs list for a guided seaduck hunt based out of marysville.

-- Guide Review--

Getty's Northwest Guiding Service offered several species of seaduck. Scoter(black, white wing, surf) old squaw, bufflehead, goldeneye, and the prized harliquen. Ben Getty owner of the buisiness and the man in the boat pictured above is a US coast guard certified captian and offered the sea confidence of a duck water boat witch if you have seen them is a very spacious very sturdy waterfowling boat. www.duckwaterboats.com  Ben Getty is a not only a knowlegable captain but is also a very down to earth washington hunter who has a love of the outdoors that rivals many of us. He was very helpful in providing information via email sometimes several emails a day.

Your guide can be the nicest guy in world but it doesnt matter if he doesnt deliver, and ben getty delivered.  Despite my poor shooting Ben put me on enough birds to limit by about 1 in the afternoon.

All in all it was a great day out on the water.  Saw more birds than i could count 2 seals and only one other hunting boat. Not to mention the guide service provides lunch and hot drinks all day. In 30 degree windy weather a hot drink goes a long ways.
