Thanks for all of the info, A little disappointing, but expected. The biggest key is that there are animals there. Now the biggest challege will be finding where people wont go (too much work to get there). I am headed up to scout there on Tuesday we will see what I find. Have a decent spot picked out off of Topo's and Satalite Images that is difficult to get to. Want to see what tracks and sign are there.

Theres a few bear in the, it got super crowded and I quit hunting it about 5 years ago. Used to be my goto area. Expect large numbers of people opening weekend.

I heard the same thing.....after I did some preseason scouting. I never went back. :bash:

It used to be a fairly quiet area with maybe a guy or 2 in the at any given time............ UNTIL fishing and hunting news did an article and printed a map several years ago. The next weekend I counted something like 22 trucks.   :bash: I haven't been back very many times since.
same thing happened to us with our deer camp, pissed me off quite a bit. I miss that mag though

Been there couple times this year scouting/camping.  A ton of poeple in the mountains.  I got off on foot and seen decent sign and one Bear.  I have never seen that many people up so high this time of the year though.  I would have thought it was opening day.

I've been going up to that area for years, and except for seeing some elk during deer season, and deer during elk season...I don't see much.  I've seen one small bear run across the road back in 07.  And, in 06 I ran across some scat over near the upper Hump.

I used to go because I never saw anyone and thought it was safe, not because the amount of game...but now that the crowds are there, I've found better pastures.
