New Release -- Wild Results

I have been using a Scott little goose release and got a tru fire bulldog to use as a spare.  I tried the bulldog at the range last night -- and immediately went back to the scott.  Reason: for some reason using this release my shots were literally going all over the place, and I do mean "All Over the Place!" .  Now what would be the reason for that?  I have shifted between different Scotts over time and never had a noticable shot difference.  But this was so bad it was dangerous.  What would cause that?  As soon as I went back to the old scott I was back on target again.

Maybe longer or shorter release causing different draw length?  Maybe different trigger design or strap type causing you to torque the release?  Maybe you were just scared of it and will settle into it?

It might be the reason I switched from a Trufire to a scott, seems to be alot of trigger creep in the trufire releases and a crisper release with the scott. I would think there is a big enough difference to cause a problem for you, good you found out now so you can go buy a second Scott before season.

I never liked the feel of the Tru-Fires, I have been shooting a T.R.U ball Cyclone for a couple years and a Scott Little Goose for a back up, I shot them both the same no difference in my groups, I recently bought a T.R.U Ball Short-N-Sweet hook release and love it at first my groups were shooting tight but to the right about 6", moved my sight and now I'm shooting center again, I gained  1" of draw length with the Short-N-Sweet and am shooting tighter groups.

Thanks guys.  That Short-n-sweet looks interesting, but I'm thinking it might take some getting use to.  Probably end up getting another little goose though.  We'll see.  I did take Jason's advise on arrows and enjoying the 10.3 gpi nfused.

good move on the arrow switch, Scott makes a nice hook release the SilverHorn it's almost like the Short-N-Sweet.

I also use the little goose, my buddies all use the bulldog. Don't know what it is exactly but the same thing happens when i use their release,WAY off.

It definately sounds like a change in anchor point to me.

pending on the head of the caliper and d-loop it could be putting pressure on your nock

OK-- replaced with another Scott Little bitty goose.  If anyone wants a tru fire bulldog just let me know -- no charge, just let me know.  I think they are probably great but do not conform to my current shooting pattern.
