Too many people for what we have for game.  As much as I would love to do it, it would be bad management.

do you think that would still be the case if we dropped the drawings for all the extra tags ? my thought is that it would give you more time to get your animal not more animals.

How about instead of getting rid of the special permit hunts, they get rid of the general seasons? That's what they need to do in my opinion, at least for mule deer and elk in eastern wa.

I voted not sure......

We can not increase pressure or wildlife numbers will suffer even more, which means if a person could hunt all three seasons, they would have to be short seasons, or draw hunts.

Our wildlife can not withstand a free-for-all, there are tradeoffs either way you look at it.

I think it would make it so they weren't taking the first legal animal they saw allowing the animal's to reach maturity. I know i would pass on a lot more animals if i had more opportunity to pick and choose without feeling like it might be my only chance for the year.

I would not feel so rushed to shoot the first leagal animal i see. It would give you more time to hunt for the animal you desire, but maybe put some added restrictions, or draw only for the whole state. Those that are drawn to hunt, can hunt all seasons with proper weapons.

It would be great but to keep the management numbers where they need to be the season would only be 2 days long. It would be a bad idea from a management standpoint.

Bad management. I totally agree with fronting the money up front for multi tags.  Hell, pay up front for sheep, goat, and moose too!  We used to.

More time to get your animal would significantly increase the total harvest.  A lot of guys don't get "their" one animal now, so any additional days in the field will only increase the harvest rates.  

Seasons would also be more crowded, which is already a problem under the current system.

I don't know if you guy's are taking into consideration that the multi season hunting would be in exchange for all the extra draw tags and and second bear . my idea is that we would only get our one animal of each species and no longer have the draw system for any reason other than for OIL tags.

I would support money up front for all of the draws.  Much better draw odds that way.  I've drawn the multi tag 3 out of the last 4 years I think.  Only once on the first draw.  That gets old.  I think a lot of folks don't care aboutthe $5 so they buy the chance but have no idea or no real want to buy the thing once they are drawn.

How is it bad management? Your still only killing one animal.

Yes, but all those people killing "only one animal" may not have killed one with less time to hunt. More people hunting for more days = more animals killed. That's the reason we have seasons. Otherwise they could just have a year around season and justify it by only letting each person kill only one deer and only one elk per year. If everybody who bought a tag killed an animal every year we wouldn't have any deer or elk left in this state.

I disagree. Being able to buy over the counter tags is the main reason I hunt here in Washington.  It's nice to know that I can go big game hunting every year without having to draw tags. I think a lot of people would quit hunting locally if we got rid of general seasons.
