Anyone Draw Dayton A???
« on: August 09, 2009, 05:05:16 PM »
I have been lucky and have the tag and don't know how good the unit is?  I hear that there is a lot of private and public access and that the public has some great bulls?  Is it a difficult area?

I wish I had your tag.  Look in archives in this forum..there is lots of advice.  Here is a few pics from the unit last year.  My suggestion is to start knocking on doors..Good luck..and welcome to the site.

Is that the muzzle tag? Or rifle?

Hey, thanks for the great pic's those are some great bulls.  I will look in the archives thanks for the suggetion.  THose pictures appear to be on private land?  Probably hard to get access.  I have never used a guide yet would be open to working with one on this hunt, would you happen to know anyone in the area that is good?  Thanks for your time.  Cheers Dave

It's a great tag, and there's plenty of public land, send me a PM and I'll give you a few starting off places to look. Congrats on drawing it. My hunt there was the most memorable of my elk hunting life.

Plenty of public land access in Dayton.  Lots of great bulls.  I would try to get out there now as much as possible and scout them while they are not being chased around.  Good luck.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
