The back ups a little heavier. At least it wasn't it that went for a swim. They sink like a rock too. The memory card made it. I was happy about that.

those big, high quality ZipLok bags would be a good thing to take along. That way you can protect the camera when you're not actually using it. They help keep the dust out, too.
Glad you've still got a good body to shoot with, Bone. Can't wait to see you post some recent pics.

Well, I either need to buy a 70-200 for some family shots with the nbig body, and buy a little digital to take hunting with me for field shots, or I need to invest in another Lumix.

That sounds like a huge investment down the toilet. Sorry to hear about that. Most importantly - if you lost all your cameras you'd have to be fired as administrator
At least the backup is around.
Care to share the whole story?

I was helping the little ladies flyfish. She got hung up, so I set it on a rock while I unhooked her. Next thing I know, the Mrs is yelling "your camera" I turned to see it not on the rock anymore I jumped over to it and it had sunk like a rock to the bottom. I guess thats one way to get the sand out of it. Basically trying to be 5 people at once. The trip was actually way more enjoyable after that, but I sure missed some nice shots.

Olympus makes some great point and shoots that are waterproof and shockproof (to a certain extent). I love mine. Its been wet and been dropped and still works like a champ.

Dry it out somewhere warm - car dashboard, patio on a breezy day, etc. Give it a week of reasonably passive drying and try it.
Resurrected a Canon A540 that way, but it only fell in 1" of water in the bottom of the canoe...I still use it.
