WA State Let-off Regulation

I was wondering what is the let-off regulation for WA. I scoured the Hunting Regulations and was unable to find the answer. So I was hoping someone could point in right direction.

i think the law changed last year to 80% let off

I also think it was changed to 80%. I couldn't find it in the regs either, but a helpful hint....pull open the regs on your computer from the WDFW website, and then if you hit CTRL+F you can then search for terms within the PDF document. Could save you some time, if the info is in there.

F&G conveniently left the fact that it was changed to 80% off of the pamphlet this year. Just an oversite on their part or maybe they didn't agree with it so decided not to let everyone know? Who knows, I'll let you make up your own minds

Again thanks for the replies. I did perform a search for "let-off" and recieved no hits. Next thing is to call them directly. The reason why I ask is I am new to archery and  thought maybe if I began with 80% and concentrate more on technique. Then as conditioning(stength) increases, change to 65%. Does this sound like a logical approach?

With the new bows and cam designs you can get plenty on speed and energy with your bow set at 80%. That extra let off comes in handy when holding full draw on a animal waiting for that perfect shot, one minute can seem like eternity.

there is no let off law in the state this year... they dropped it out of the regs. completely! So, use whichever you like, although most bows wont go below 80%! Believe me, 65 to 80 makes a huge difference!

Actually I think they took off all letoff restrictions not just down to 80%.  Of course that captures almost all bows.  I'm loving the 80%, I don't even mind putting the * next to any P & Y entries.

Remember that the regs are not all encompassing, they are just an overview.

   Keep in mind that bows with over 80% letoff are legal to hunt with in WA. The animals taken with a bow over 80% will not be recognized by P@Y. With all the new bows out there with adjustable draw stops. Its very easy to get over 80%. Just something to think about if that matters

Almost all bows will shoot better at the 65% let-off as well.  My guess is if your having trouble holding your bow at full draw unless you go to 80% let-off, you either do not practice enough or your shooting more draw weight than you should.

I agree with this 100%!!! If you can't hold your bow at 65% you need to do something different! And it is proven fact they shoot better at 65%!

I do believe you're correct, however I purchased the Mathews Outback a few years ago and it has a miserably short valley.  I was ready to get rid of it and get a BT Liberty until they dropped the letoff law.  If I had a bow with a longer valley I would definitely be at 65%. 

Any of you shoot a Mathews Outback and hate the cam? The next year when the Switchback came out they improved the valley dramatically.
